Session IV:  Case Study Blueprint - Creating and Evolving an Innovation Program

Organizations today are struggling to cope with shifting consumer demographics, new digital technologies and business models, and changing regulations. Today, innovation remains a driving force in a defining era.  Even companies that consider themselves “fast followers” could be in trouble! Company CEO’s are increasingly realizing they need to get ahead of the curve or risk getting left behind.  But in a world where unexpected events are part of the normal course of business, how should teams leverage innovation in their organizations and decision processes?

To be successful, it’s not about investing more in technology than your competitors do.  There are many different types of organizations, with different mandates, budgets and resources. Understanding that we’re all different, there are some steps that we can all take to drive creativity in our organizations. This session will cover the five key stages that a Center for Innovation can go through regardless of your organizational model.  It will also detail simple steps that you can take to drive organizational Innovation.

Session V:   Agile Isn’t Just for Development

“Fail fast.  Welcome change.  Meet face-to-face.  Work together daily.  The best solutions emerge from self-organizing teams.”

These Agile tenets shouldn’t start and end with development.  In this session, we examine specific Agile principles that promote a culture of open communication and accountability within your development team, but can drive meaningful change in other organizational verticals, too

Session VI:  Case Study Blueprint - Innovation: Expectations from a Cultural and Organizational View

Culture is, perhaps, the most important component of innovation. Without a culture which supports, encourages and defends risks and non-conventional thinking, innovation rarely thrives. Many companies have put their stamp on the process. From how to appropriately set goals, to how to deal with failure there are many small changes you can make to angle the course of the ship towards an innovative culture. There are also common pitfalls which show up that need to be minded and avoided. During this presentation, Alex Welch will share with you his experiences in creating and growing a culture of innovation and advancement.
