    Dean Evans has over 25 years' experience successfully delivering technology initiatives to support business operations and associated change programs. He is a former retail bank CIO who understands how technology can be leveraged as a key differentiator. Dean’s specialties include IT Infrastructure, Outsourcing Advisory, Technology Assessment/ Strategy and Managed Services.  He is an established, trusted advisor whose work has spanned financial services, energy and retail industries.

    John has been responsible for managing PSC's Chicago area operations since 2008. John has extensive experience in leading consulting organizations and providing solutions to clients. John first became involved with collaboration technologies as he created the first use of Lotus Notes at Bank of America. He then moved to Xpedior, Inc, where, as the Global Practice Leader - Enterprise Portals and Knowledge Management, he worked closely with senior executives to provide strategic guidance on e-Business, Enterprise Portal / Knowledge Management and many initiatives.Since joining PSC in 2004, John led the Enterprise Applications and the Advisory Services practices before taking on his current role of Vice President of Operations. As a Partner of the PSC, John oversees all aspects of our Chicago operation. He has been extensively involved in the creation of our Five Points of Excellence program and has helped lead the organization through a phase of steady and consistent growth.


    Dr. Mark Roden, Principal Architect, PSC Group

    Mark's primary responsibility is enabling delivery excellence and business development through the use of emerging technologies. Mark is a multi-discipline Technical Evangelist and contributor to the Microsoft Office Developer and IBM Cloud communities. Mark has worked in many varied facets of enterprise IT, and gets the most satisfaction from enabling others.

    Mike Cozzi, IT Director, Global products Supply Chain, HAVI

    Mike Cozzi is a senior business technology leader with vast experience in development, project management, relationship building, strategic planning, organization design and leadership, vendor management, program management, and systems development lifecycle. Strong business and information technology operations experience in telecommunications, supply chain, and insurance industries. Mike holds a B.A. from Northern Illinois University in Operations Management and Information Systems and a M.B.A. from DePaul University in Leadership/Change Management. Mike has been a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2001. Mike is currently the PMO Director at HAVI Global Solutions. Mike has held various leadership positions at U.S. Cellular, AT&T and CNA prior to joining HAVI Global Solutions. Mike is involved with Junior Achievement. Mike was also an adjunct faculty member at Kendall College in 2010 - 2013.



    Mohan Shukla , VP, IT Governance , Information Resources, Inc.

    Mohan Shukla leads the business side of IT as VP of IT Governance at IRI, covering Finance, Sourcing, Procurement and PMO. Previously, he has led Project Management Offices, Quality Systems, Six-Sigma programs at global corporations for 20 years. Mohan has a keen interest in organizational culture and leadership development. He directed PMI's mentoring program for two years and has been coaching and conducting workshops to improve leadership effectiveness. His passion is to teach practicing leaders how to effectively influence teams across all levels of an organization. He has developed tools to identify the mental-emotional factors that drive decision making, behavior and alignment in organizations, resulting in better organizational results. He has also published two books on self-improvement based on principles of Yoga.

     

    Patricia O’Shea, Senior Director, Agile Program Management, Cars.com

    Patricia O’Shea is Senior Director, Agile Program Management Office (PMO) at Cars.com. Previously she was a McDonald’s Director responsible for global IT digital technology PMO & global IT planning. Patricia’s areas of expertise include driving large scale enterprise and global change initiatives, agile and waterfall project and program management, leadership development and coaching, organizational effectiveness, and strategic communications.

     

    Jim Tarala, Partner & Director of Innovation, Honkamp Krueger & Co

    As a technology and consulting executive, Jim thrives on improving companies, products, teams and people. Jim pairs his business acumen with his knowledge and understanding of the capacity of technology to deliver the greatest possible strategic value from a technology investment. At Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C., Jim is responsible for aligning technology initiatives with corporate strategic planning, business intelligence/analytics, and program and vendor management. When developing technology strategies for businesses of all sizes, Jim looks to not only improve internal effectiveness, but also serve as a key market differentiator. He approaches technology as a tool to solve real-world business problems and recognizes that early adoption of new technology creates a competitive advantage.

     

    Moderator: Patricia Gavino,  Senior Director Systems Engineering, VMWare

    Patricia  leads the America’s Enterprise, Systems Engineers at VMware.  They provide pre-sales support to the sales organization addressing Software Defined Data Centers, Enterprise Mobility and Cloud Services. She has acquired 34 years of experience in a variety of technical leadership positions across an array of industries including utility, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, insurance, consulting and software start-up companies. In previous roles at VMware, she assisted customers in driving transformational change in their business and operations by leveraging disruptive technology.  She led the Delivery Excellence, PMO, in Professional Services managing the delivery of engagements across the Americas and ensuring VMware delivers great value to highly satisfied customers.

What happens when you find the time and headspace to pull yourself out of the day-to-day details to think innovatively? A world of possibilities. Mike Koleno of Solstice, a Digital Innovation Firm, will provide examples and detail the strategies other IT leaders have used to drive technology innovation and results in their organizations.

    Mike is a CTO at Solstice, a digital innovation firm. In this role, Mike leads the Solstice Cloud Native and Modern Software Engineering practice areas as well as the full stack development efforts across a wide-ranging set of clients including Rockwell Automation, Northern Trust, Country Financial, Kohler and more. Prior to joining Solstice, Mike spent over eight years at JPMorgan Chase in various application development and architecture roles across the bank's Treasury & Security Services, Card and Corporate Technology lines of business. When he isn't thinking about technology, Mike is spending as much time as he can with his wife and their three wonderful children.

    Sean Fallon joined CNO in 2012 and currently serves as Vice President of Application Delivery for the Front Office. He supports technology delivery for Bankers Life, Colonial Penn and Washington National, including compensation, CRM, eApp, Recruiting, and License / Appointment. He also supports CNO’s Enterprise Marketing and product development programs. Fallon has over 25 years of IT experience. Prior to joining CNO, he held various IT leadership roles at Northwestern Mutual, Northern Trust, Millennium Partners, CUNA Mutual Group, and Lincoln Financial. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Information Services, Finance and Management, and a Masters of Finance from the University of Wisconsin. Fallon is also a Fellow, Life Office Management Association (LOMA).

Session V: True Transformation: How IT innovation can drive business success

    Aaron Shaver, Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, US Signal Company

    Aaron Shaver, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, leads US Signal’s long-term technology vision, and is responsible for strategic customer partnerships, university collaboration, industry thought leadership and advanced technical solutions.
    Prior to joining US Signal, Aaron served as the Executive Director of Information Management for Spectrum Pennock Health Services. He has also lead research and development for US Signal, establishing the MPLS, Carrier Ethernet and Cloud practices.  Aaron has a 20-year background in telecommunications, data center design and information security.
    Aaron holds a doctorate in information assurance and computer science and a Master of Science in Information Security.  His research focused on enterprise disaster recovery and mitigation.​

Is it important to be at the (senior executive) table?  Increasingly technology is transforming businesses.  How do you make sure you influence key strategic decisions?   This session will explore the nature of senior executive decision-making and techniques to insert and assert oneself into the process.  Discover ways to assess your environment and take action to build strategic relationships that will demonstrate value and enable you to influence key decisions.

    Patricia Coffey is Senior Vice President for Allstate Insurance Company. Working at the nation’s largest publicly held insurance company, Ms. Coffey has shaped strategic technology solutions to benefit Allstate’s employees and its customers.  As a member of the senior leadership team for Technology and Strategic Ventures, she currently holds the roles of leader of the Delivery and Risk Management organization as well as Group CIO for Enterprise Applications.  Ms. Coffey is dedicated to finding innovative ways to strengthen Allstate’s businesses with direct oversight of Allstate technology risk management and compliance, enterprise testing and quality, the program management office, and enterprise applications.  In addition, she is a member of the faculty at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Session VII.: Panel Discussion: Leverage Your Technology Innovation Initiative to Earn a Seat at the Table.

Rob has led the Business Technology group at the company since 2013.  He ensures that we create, maintain and publish the technology that gives us valuable insights into the global marketing supply chain – and helps us make smart data-driven decisions for our clients. Rob previously led sales, operations and forecasting groups for InnerWorkings, and prior to joining InnerWorkings in 2009, honed his experience in such diverse industries as aerospace, building materials and electronics.  He earned his BS in industrial engineering from Purdue, and he also holds an MBA from Chicago Booth. Rob leads the Infrastructure and Security, Customer Facing and Internal Tools groups with a primary focus on serving end customer needs and ensuring rich data and efficiency are preserved throughout the organization.

 

James P. MacLennan, Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer, IDEX Corporation

Jim MacLennan is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at IDEX Corporation, a Fortune 1000 manufacturer that sells highly engineered products in a variety of markets worldwide. MacLennan has responsibility for Corporate IT services for all IDEX business units, and also drives innovation through initiatives that leverage Information and Technology as growth drivers for the industrial manufacturing space. Cicero Chimbanda is Vice President (VP), CISM, MS Business Technology Managementat DePaul. He is responsible for the Strategic Planning and Execution of the Corporate Information Technology and Security for Loop Capital Markets.

 

Roman Dumiak, Director - Technology Innovation, Allstate

Roman Dumiak, Director - Technology Innovation, Allstate

Roman Dumiak is currently a Director in the Technology Innovation group for the Allstate Insurance Company. His focus includes directing and facilitating efforts utilizing innovative software and hardware solutions from the ideation phase through implementation as part of Allstate Technology and Strategic Ventures (ATSV).
  His previous experience has included roles in application development, database administration, network engineering and enterprise architecture. During his career, he has also functioned as a senior strategic planner working on a variety of IT-wide related strategies including ITIL/ ITSM planning and rollout and a Business Integrated Technology Strategy to create an optimized and integrated set of IT capabilities.  Most recently, he has been a key player in a fundamental transformation of the way Allstate ATSV develops, delivers and runs their technology solutions by leveraging Agile methodologies, DevOps principles and cloud-based platforms.
