Carl Deal, Executive Partner, will be coming straight from Gartner's annual Symposium and will share with you the latest and greatest Refresh Technology Trends from Gartner's Annual Symposium. Carl will combine this presentation with key insights from Gartner's annual CIO Trends Survey.

    Shariq is currently working at University of Chicago Medicine as Director Enterprise Architecture and Shared Service. He leads center of innovation, Data Analytics, Enterprise Integration and Architecture. His team is responsible for implementing real-time analytics for clinical and operational outcomes. In his previous role he was VP, Head of IT Digital Banking and Enterprise Integration at National Commercial Bank where he lead digital banking strategy and business process automation. Shariq also served as VP Solution Architect & Delivery at Cordys, Inc. and was also Director of Enterprise Application at AMA. He has been at the forefront of driving innovation and business process automation over the last 20 years.

       

    Mike Yau, VP, Innovation and Channel Strategy, Northern Trust 

    Created business cases and worked in partnership with business leaders and technology teams to develop innovation roadmap to achieve business goals. Created a comprehensive technology innovation strategic plan that emphasized a customer value focus, leveraging the mobile, alternate and internet as complimentary channels.

    Nate Novick is a results-oriented technology leader with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing innovative solutions within the Financial Services Industry.Nate combines strong hands-on technical skills and Agile experience with deep knowledge of Traditional and Alternative Asset Management across complex Back, Middle and Front Office organizations. Nate firmly believes that every challenge provides an opportunity to think strategically and take pride in my ability to manage several projects simultaneously while retaining focus on our larger goals. He has a passion for leading self-organizing teams to create, deliver and continuously improve valuable products. Throughout his career, Nate has enjoyed success by collaborating with stakeholders, establishing trust and shared understanding, and helping to lead them to their best result.

Blockchain promises major advances in data sharing, security, and overall business collaboration. But still in its early stages, it may not be the best tech for you. In this presentation we’ll explore how to know if blockchain is a good fit for your business, its possible benefits, and the technology’s maturity and lifecycle – so you’ll be ready when the time comes to bet on blockchain.

I’m a hands-off manager— my management style is to establish objectives and vision for the team and enable teammates to turn those thoughts into action. I have a knack for solving problems and enjoy creating and acquiring skills for both professional and personal pursuits. With extensive experience building custom native iOS and Android mobile applications, Java and .NET based backend systems, I am constantly on the hunt for the big tool or technology. At work, I strive to understand the big picture all the way down to the little details so as to better understand the problems and what it is that we need to do to make projects successful.

    Justin Rice Director, NaaS & SD-WAN CBTS

    Justin Rice is the solution lead for the Network as a Service (NaaS) and SD-WAN solution offerings for CBTS. Justin joined the company of January 2016, and most recently served as a solution architect building new business solutions in the solution design and management organization, including NaaS and SD-WAN. Justin has over ten years of experience in solution architecture, engineering, and product in various leadership roles. Justin is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served on active duty for five years doing network and systems engineering both here and abroad. Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Xavier University.

    As vice president of digital product, Vivek Bedi drives Northwestern Mutual’s digital transformation through the design, development and delivery of world-class digital products and features that enhance the client and advisor experience. This includes all digital aspects of Northwestern Mutual’s client experience, mobile, client website and client services. Bedi joined the company in 2015 from Sterling Solutions, a provider of background-screening services, where he served as senior vice president of digital product and platform, focused on the company’s digital, mobile, web and B2B applications. Prior to his role at Sterling, Bedi spent 13 years as senior vice president of digital consumer communications products at Goldman Sachs. Earlier in his career, Bedi founded a mobile startup that was acquired in 2006 by a leading international exchange company. A graduate of Rutgers College of Engineering, Bedi holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. He is an avid soccer, basketball and football fan, loves traveling and exploring new places, and enjoys working out and running.

    William Boroski is the Head of the Offices of Project Management and Enterprise Architecture at Fermilab, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory. Bill uses his leadership and collaborative skills, technical acumen, and experience to make things happen. By partnering with functional organizations and leveraging on-premise and cloud-based solutions, Bill and his colleagues have successfully integrated emerging technologies with existing systems; consolidated and modernized processes; and digitized paper-based workflows and transactions. Prior to his current role, Bill served as an Acting Deputy CIO, managed a $100M astronomy project, and developed innovative advances in cryogenic insulation. Bill holds three U.S. patents and has published over 40 papers in refereed journals. Bill holds a B.S. Summa Cum Laude in Computer Science from Aurora University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

    George is the Director of IT/CTO at the Regional Transportation Authority in Chicago. He has over 20yrs experience in technology and has been in leadership roles for the last 7rs. George has a bachelor's degree in computing from DePaul University and an MBA from Purdue University's Krannert School of Management. George is a veteran and has a son who is a 4th year cadet at the United States Air Force Academy.

Vamsi also spent two years as the General Manager (Financial Services) at Hortonworks. In both roles, Vamsi was responsible for driving Red Hat and Hortonworks technology vision from a client business standpoint. The clients Vamsi engages with on a daily basis span marquee financial services names across major banking centers in Wall Street, Toronto, London & in Asia. These include businesses in capital markets, retail banking, wealth management and IT operations. holds a BS in Computer Science and Engineering as well as an MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park.
